The Launch Evening

Wednesday 9th December 2009 was the opening launch of Signature Flowers.
It was attended by friends and family, people who had worked with us on the shop, local residents and local businesses.
It was our way of introducing ourselves, and showing people what our new business had to offer!
It was lovely to see so many people come to wish us well, and everyone seems really happy to have a florist shop in Lilliput.
Thank you everyone for your support.

Opening of the Shop

We finally opened Signature Flowers for business on Thursday 10th December 2009. In all, it took us about 3 weeks to get the shop up and ready from the time we received the keys, then it was full steam ahead!

We had the sign men on standby who had already taken measurements and, they got started straight away, replacing the old, tired 'chemist' sign, with our smart new black and chrome 'Signature Flowers' sign, and our trademark dandelions!
Stu and I began ripping all the old shelving out, taking the old carpet tiles up, and generally creating just a shell! Then we erected a stud wall to separate what was to become the back 'work room' from the shop. Had new lighting fitted, new ceramic floor tiles, and a smart new counter was built as was a window display area, and a stand to display our fresh flower. Walls were painted, a large work bench was made out the back, and soon it was starting to look like a florist!
I soon had to start ordering my stock, and thats when it got really exciting, was when all these boxes started arriving with vases, pots christmas baubles, ribbons, wires, cellophane and tissues!
We decided to hold a launch evening to celebrate our opening, and were joined by friends, family, people that had worked on the shop, local residents and business's... all in all, a big success!

I would like to take this oppertunity to say a few thankyou's........

To Stuart, Ben & Vitto from 'Custom Signs & Lines', who were responsible for my fantastic signs, awnings, interior and window graphics and my van! They did a wonderful job, and nothing was too much trouble for them!

To Andy who did all the electrics.

To Julian who plastered the walls

Then, to members of my family, who never got paid, and Im sure had better things to do, my Dad, my Mum, my sister Debbie, from painting, putting up flat-packed furniture, putting up skirting boards, wall papering, cleaning, making endless cups of tea, sandwiches, and even taking care of my dog!! Thank you all!!

And finally...... To my wonderful Stu, who, without his constant support, hard work and love, none of this would have been possible! He was with me every step of the way, from the initial decision to take a shop on, to all the hard work involved, and throughout, has always believed in me and given me encouragement, so to him I'd like to say Thank you, and I love you!
